January 28, 2025

On Tuesday, January 21, CYKLUS representative Hirata, a participant in the second cohort of CIRCULAR STARTUP TOKYO, spoke at “Decarbonization dialogue vol.2: weaving Yokohama’s future through repair,” a Community-focused talk event aimed at promoting a decarbonized lifestyle through the theme of “repair.”

Organized by the City of Yokohama and Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance Co., Ltd., the event is part of an ongoing initiative launched in 2022. This project has been implemented to create and promote attractive decarbonized lifestyles that contribute to a circular economy, encouraging citizens to take personal action in reducing CO2 emissions from the household sector in Yokohama.

Hirata, representing CYKLUS, runs a circular economy business specializing in clothing repair, remaking, and sustainable fashion. During the event, he joined a cross-talk session titled “Weaving Yokohama’s future through repair” and a workshop called “What do you want to repair?” Together with attendees, he discussed how a decarbonized lifestyle in Yokohama could take shape from the perspective of everyday consumers.
